We had our second doctor’s visit this past Tuesday, which involved taking another sonogram, seen above, a pap smear and a lengthy talk with a big Scandinavian nurse named Uli. We got to hear the heartbeat (165 BPM, which is normal), Young Boatright is just about 1.5 cm long (~ half an inch), or the size of a kidney bean.
For the last week and a half or so, Tahra has been pretty nauseaus, especially if she hasn’t eaten in a while. We have been making an effort to have lots of snacks readily available so that she can graze throughout the day, rather than eating 3 large meals. We made a trip over MLK Jr. Day Weekend to visit Tahra’s cousin Cindy and her husband Bryce, which was good because Cindy is also pregnant, and further along, and she dispensed advice to Tahra on how to deal with the changes that had already occurred and those still yet to come.
The reality that we have made another life is starting to set in, especially since the sonogram kinda looks like a baby (if you squint at it). We going to go through alot of life changes in the next 7 months, and the excitement of accomplishing goals that we set for ourselves long ago (namely, having a family) is really special.
